Hydration and glow, for the face and the neck
Patients who want smoother, more hydrated, better-looking skin — without adding volume or reshaping a single feature — can consider SKINVIVE by Juvéderm, an injectable that works on skin quality rather than structure, now approved for use in the neck as well as the cheeks.
What Is SKINVIVE?
SKINVIVE is the first and only FDA-approved hyaluronic acid microdroplet injectable designed specifically to improve skin quality. Unlike traditional dermal fillers, SKINVIVE does not sculpt or lift. It is placed shallowly beneath the surface of the skin, where hyaluronic acid attracts and holds water, improving hydration, smoothness and texture from within. At SkinPerfected, we use SKINVIVE to help patients achieve a dewy, hydrated, refreshed and healthy glow without changing their facial structure.
Where We Use SKINVIVE
Cheeks
The cheeks are the most common SKINVIVE treatment area. Microdroplet injections placed across the mid-face improve hydration and texture, replenishing skin that looks dull or flat and leaving a brightened, dewy finish — without adding a single degree of volume or changing the shape of the face.
Neck
SKINVIVE is now approved for injection in the neck as well. The neck is one of the first areas to show visible signs of aging because of its delicate skin structure and constant movement, and it is one of the areas patients are most likely to neglect in a daily skincare routine. Used here, SKINVIVE improves hydration and smoothness in skin that has become dry, crepey or uneven in texture, so the neck reads as healthy and cared for rather than older than the face.
SKINVIVE addresses skin quality in the neck. It does not relax muscle banding or tighten laxity — those concerns are treated differently. If neck aging is your primary concern, our neck rejuvenation options cover the full range, and SKINVIVE is frequently combined with them.
What SKINVIVE Treats
Skin Dullness
SKINVIVE injections replenish the skin and provide a brightened look. For patients whose main complaint is that their skin looks tired or flat rather than deflated, this is the concern SKINVIVE was built for.
Rough or Uneven Texture
By increasing water retention within the skin, SKINVIVE softens rough patches and smooths the surface for a more even feel as well as a more even look.
Dehydrated Skin
The active ingredient in SKINVIVE increases water retention within the skin, helping to keep it hydrated long-term rather than for the few hours a topical product lasts.
Fine Lines and Mild Wrinkling
SKINVIVE is not a wrinkle treatment and does not add volume. It does strengthen the skin, and in doing so it can reduce the appearance of very mild lines while softening the overall look of the treated area.
Benefits of SKINVIVE
SKINVIVE offers a set of advantages that no topical product and no traditional filler can deliver on its own, including:
- Increased Skin Hydration: Binds natural moisture beneath the skin’s surface for healthier, glowing skin.
- Improved Texture: Softens fine lines and smooths rough patches for a more even feel.
- No Facial Reshaping: Leaves your natural contours intact while enhancing skin quality.
- Two Treatment Areas: Approved for the cheeks and the neck, so the two can be addressed together.
- Even Dispersal: SKINVIVE injections are designed to disperse evenly throughout the treatment area for comprehensive results.
- Quick Treatment: Most sessions take just 15 to 30 minutes with little to no downtime.
- Minimal Downtime: Return to your daily routine immediately after your appointment.

How SKINVIVE Works
The SKINVIVE procedure uses a system of targeted microdroplet injections placed shallowly under the skin of the treatment area, typically the cheeks, the neck, or both. The hyaluronic acid delivered this way does not sit in one place adding volume the way a structural filler does. It disperses evenly through the treatment area and increases the skin’s ability to retain water, which is what produces the smoother texture and brighter finish. Because the change is happening at the level of skin quality rather than facial structure, results build over a few weeks rather than appearing the moment you leave.

Skinvive FAQs
What not to do after Skinvive?Patients should avoid touching or rubbing the treated area for at least 24 hours and refrain from strenuous exercise, excessive sun exposure, and heat exposure, for the first 24 to 48 hours after treatment. Additionally, patients should avoid consuming alcohol or blood-thinning medications for a few days post-treatment to reduce the risk of bruising. Is Skinvive better than Botox? Both SKINVIVE and Botox are injectable treatments used to improve the appearance of facial features in different ways. The choice between them depends on the intended goals of the patient, and many patients receive both. Does Skinvive get rid of wrinkles?SKINVIVE treatments are intended to improve the appearance of skin dullness and therefore do not focus their energy on adding volume. However, SKINVIVE does strengthen the skin and can subsequently reduce very mild wrinkling. How long does it take Skinvive to work? The timeline for seeing results with SKINVIVE injections varies from person to person. The full effects may take a few weeks to develop. Where do you inject Skinvive?SKINVIVE is approved for the cheeks and the neck. The cheeks remain the most common treatment area, and many patients now choose to treat both in the same appointment. What does Skinvive do?SKINVIVE is an injectable hyaluronic acid treatment used to provide hydration directly to the skin, leading to smoother, more hydrated skin. How is Skinvive different from other fillers?SKINVIVE is different from other fillers because it isn't a filler at all. Traditional fillers add volume and structure to a specific area. SKINVIVE disperses evenly through the skin to improve hydration and texture, and it leaves your contours exactly as they are. What is the difference between Skinvive and Botox?SKINVIVE and Botox are completely different treatments. While SKINVIVE offers hydration to the skin, Botox temporarily stops specific muscles from contracting, allowing the skin to smooth out, reducing fine lines and wrinkles, and giving you a younger-looking appearance. In the neck in particular the two do different jobs — Botox relaxes visible muscle banding, while SKINVIVE improves the quality of the skin itself — and they are often used together. How much does Skinvive cost? How much SKINVIVE costs depends on the results you're looking for, but on average a treatment session can cost anywhere from $650 to $1,250. How long does Skinvive last?SKINVIVE is clinically proven to increase skin hydration and texture for up to six months. Can SKINVIVE be used on the neck?Yes. SKINVIVE is approved for injection in the neck, which is one of the first areas to show visible signs of aging and one of the most commonly overlooked. On the neck, SKINVIVE improves hydration and smoothness in skin that has become dry, crepey or uneven in texture. It does not address muscle banding or skin laxity, so if those are your concerns we will talk through the other options available. What qualifies you for SKINVIVE?The best way to know is through a consultation with us. As long as you are in good overall health, have realistic expectations, and are over the age of 21, you are likely a good candidate. During your consultation we will assess your skin's condition and give you all the information you need to decide what is right for your skincare needs. |
