What Are Laser Treatments?

At SkinPerfected, we believe that our skin treatments should focus on both pre-juvenation and preventative measures to keep the skin youthful and healthy. That’s why we offer a curated selection of advanced laser and light-based technologies designed to improve skin tone, texture, and overall quality over time.

Laser and light-based treatments work by delivering energy into the skin to trigger your body’s natural regenerative response. Our options include non-ablative treatments, MOXI and BBL HEROic, as well as the HALO Tribrid laser, a hybrid treatment that combines both ablative and non-ablative technology — plus laser hair removal for unwanted facial and body hair.

Our treatments are thoughtfully categorized into non-ablative and ablative options, allowing us to match the intensity of treatment to your goals, lifestyle, and downtime preferences. Some patients may benefit from a single treatment modality, while others may see enhanced results from combining technologies over time. In certain cases, treatments such as MOXI and BBL HEROic may be performed together to maximize skin-brightening and preventative benefits.

Lasers Before & Afters

Types of Lasers We Offer

Each device does something different. Here’s what each one does — and what it treats.

Laser Hair Removal (BareHR)

What it does: Laser hair removal uses concentrated beams of light that are absorbed by the pigment (melanin) in the hair. This light energy is converted to heat, which damages the hair follicles. Unlike traditional hair removal treatments that simply shorten the hair or remove it from the root, laser hair removal treatments destroy the hair follicle so it can no longer grow hair. Once destroyed, the hair will grow thinner and shed, and you’ll eventually be left with significantly less hair volume in your treatment area.

What it treats: Unwanted facial or body hair. Some of the most common treatment areas include the bikini area, underarms, back, chest, arms, and legs — as well as the face and chin. It should not be used on eyelids or areas with tattoos.

Good to know: With the BareHR all skin types may be treated. Treatments are virtually painless and take just minutes to complete. Typically it takes a minimum of six (6) sessions to achieve the desired permanent hair reduction; most individuals require between 6-10 treatments depending on the treatment area. Fall or winter is typically the best season, due to less sun exposure and decreased risk of pigmentation changes and burning.

BBL HEROic

What it does: BBL HEROic is a non-ablative device that emits broadband light directly into the deeper layers of the skin during a quick treatment that doesn’t require significant downtime. It uses powerful IPL (intense pulsed light) technology to safely and comfortably improve the skin — targeting reds and browns while inducing collagen production. The device includes an integrated cooling system that keeps the skin comfortable throughout the procedure, often eliminating the need for numbing cream.

What it treats: Skin discoloration, melasma, age spots, sun spots, sun damage, and general hyperpigmentation. It also addresses rosacea, broken vessels, cherry angiomas, underlying redness, and skin aging, and can minimize small vascular lesions such as broken blood vessels.

Good to know: Treatments typically take 30 minutes or less depending on the number of areas addressed. Downtime is very minimal — you can go back to your normal routine the next day and even apply makeup after the procedure. Most patients require a minimum of 3 treatments spaced 3-4 weeks apart for the face, neck, and chest, and 6-8 weeks apart for body areas. Suitable for Fitzpatrick skin types I through V.

MOXI Laser

What it does: The MOXI laser is a non-ablative fractional laser designed to safely and effectively rejuvenate the skin with minimal downtime. MOXI by Sciton helps rejuvenate and revitalize the skin by targeting water within the cells to work with the body’s natural healing processes. This treatment emphasizes pre-juvenation and preventative care, making it ideal for patients who want to preserve youthful skin quality and address early signs of aging.

What it treats:

  • Early signs of aging
  • Uneven skin texture
  • Mild skin laxity
  • Sun-damaged skin
  • Uneven skin tone
  • Pigmentation concerns, including melasma

Good to know: A topical anesthetic is applied approximately 30 minutes before treatment. A full facial treatment typically takes about 8-10 minutes. Generally 3+ sessions are recommended, spaced 3 to 4 weeks apart, with maintenance once or twice a year. Safe and effective for all skin types and can be performed year-round — on the face, neck, chest, hands, and arms. MOXI combined with BBL HERO is considered a powerful treatment for addressing the appearance of aging skin in all skin types.

HALO Tribrid Laser

What it does: HALO Tribrid is a hybrid laser treatment that combines both non-ablative and ablative wavelengths (1470nm, 1927nm, and 2940nm) in a single session, allowing for comprehensive skin rejuvenation at multiple depths. The non-ablative portion targets deeper layers of the skin to support collagen production and improve overall skin quality, while the ablative component addresses surface-level concerns.

What it treats: Uneven texture, sun damage, fine lines, and visible signs of aging. It may be an appropriate option for patients with moderate sun damage, uneven skin tone, textural irregularities, enlarged pores, or more noticeable signs of aging who are seeking more corrective results than non-ablative treatments alone can provide.

Good to know: Because HALO Tribrid includes an ablative component, it is considered a more intensive option than MOXI or BBL HEROic and may involve a short period of downtime. Patients typically experience redness, swelling, and a rough or sandpaper-like texture for several days as the skin begins its renewal process.

Also Offered: Energy-Based Device Treatments

Sylfirm X RF Microneedling

What it does: RF microneedling combines the collagen induction therapy of traditional microneedling with radiofrequency energy. The device uses tiny needles that puncture the skin, and these areas are simultaneously treated with radiofrequency waves. Sylfirm X’s Pulsed Wave Mode provides focused RF therapy, contracting the tissue, stimulating collagen production, and lifting and repositioning the skin to achieve a tighter and lifted appearance.

What it treats: Acne scars, fine lines and wrinkles, laxity, melasma, hyperpigmentation, redness and rosacea, enlarged pores, scarring, stretch marks, and thinning hair. It is also the only device that can safely treat the upper and lower eyelids.

Good to know: A typical session takes approximately 120 minutes — a 60-minute numbing period followed by a 60-minute treatment. Most patients need a minimum of three treatments. The skin is red for about 2-4 hours after treatment, and makeup can be applied the following day. Every treatment is enhanced with exosomes from Plated.

SkinPen Microneedling

What it does: SkinPen microneedling is a 30-minute treatment that creates micro-channels (microscopic holes) at a rate of 1600 per second. These wounds stimulate your skin, kicking its healing process into high gear, resulting in firmer and smoother skin as your collagen remodels. SkinPen is the first FDA-cleared microneedling device, proven safe and effective for all skin types and skin tones, and it jump-starts new collagen without heat or chemicals.

What it treats: Acne scars, fine lines, wrinkles, and loss of collagen and elastin in the skin. It significantly improves the appearance of wrinkles on the neck, dramatically improves the appearance of acne scars, and minimizes the appearance of pores.

Good to know: Treats the face in only 30 minutes with little to no downtime. A treatment series of 3 is recommended to begin, with maintenance treatments quarterly; some patients need as many as five to six treatments. Treatments can be customized with exosomes from Benev.
